Karen Duckworth has 20 years of experience in the food service industry and more than 15 years in nutrition and food service management. Duckworth earned her bachelor of science in food science and nutrition from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, Calif. She is a certified food manager and is ServSafe certified. Her professional experience includes Food Service Director, Food Service District Manager, Charting Dietitian, and Operations Support Manager. Karen currently oversees one of Williamson Hospitalitys retirement convent communities. She is also involved in company quality improvement initiatives, menu development and training of new managers.In her professional role, Duckworth has implemented family and satellite dining programs in numerous healthcare communities and has spoken to large groups of professionals regarding person-centered care in food service and family-style dining. Duckworth has provided Q&A and operational support to numerous food service departments nationwide.Duckworth is passionate about customer service and is constantly seeking creative ways to enhance the quality of residents dining experience and to promote person-centered care in dining services.
